- Sturdy Subframe: Designed as a heavy-duty table subframe, this base is perfect for large, heavy tops or materials that need more support like stone. Made from a chunky 80x40mm steel section with a classic splayed design.
- Design Flexibility: Choose from four crossbar sizes to suit the most common table sizes. Adjustable feet with ball joint movement allow placement on uneven, unlevel ground surfaces.
- Bolt Together: Subframe crossbars connect the two legs with sturdy M8 fixing points, and a quality 6mm Hex wrench is included to ensure easy assembly.
- Supportive Sizes: Designed to help those making larger, heavier tables. Without needing a structural table top, you can use thinner or hard-to-drill materials like concrete or stone.

Metal Desk Frame - FAQs
When should I choose a full table frame? How strong are they?
Our freestanding table frames will ensure a rock-solid table with little DIY effort. The frame bolts together into a rigid, self-supporting base and allows you to fit both extremely heavy (stone, very thick solid woods) and also thin/weak (i.e. MDF), non-structural (i.e. composites) or hard to fit (i.e. marble or glass) tops with ease. The overall finish is much stronger than any of our non-freestanding options. The cross bars provide a huge amount of lateral support both for the legs and the top and the result is that you can build an incredibly sturdy table. These are incredibly strong and will be suitable for the heaviest projects. We do not specify ultimate weight limits for these but a guide, anything over 100kg would benefit from this style of legs. As with all our projects, the final build is still in your hands and it is your responsibility to ensure everything has been assembled correctly and is safe for use etc.
Which legs are suitable for outdoor use?
While many of our products are designed for indoor use, some are suitable for outdoor use. However, remember that "suitable for outdoors" isn't always a straightforward definition. It's more of a sliding scale, with some products more resilient to outdoor conditions than others. We consider a product suitable if treated with an outdoor-graded powder coat paint, which we regard as consumer-grade protection. A non-rusting base material such as galvanised mild steel, 316 stainless steel or aluminium must be used for commercial-grade protection. Items painted with regular powder coat paint aren't exactly "unsuitable for outdoors", but they might not withstand the elements as long and require more care and maintenance. Some customers have successfully used our standard legs outdoors for years without issues, but others might see wear and tear more quickly.
